Thursdays are my jam

Thursdays have always been special to me, Derrick, our friends...they hold a special place in my heart and always will, at least when I turn into a 'real' adult. Since my freshman year in college I have always gone out on Thursdays. (Personally, I'm just not ready to part with this relationship I have going on with my dear Thursday evenings...) To me, Thursday nights are better than the weekend. Thursdays are the kick-off to every weekend-an equilvalent to this would be Memorial Day weekend is the kick-off to summer. In Cape, you weren't in with the in crowd if you weren't seen on a Thursday night...esp at the one and only Pladium (excuse me, I'm a little bias) I know this sob story is probably bringing a tear to your eye if you can relate so let me get to the moral of the story...

Last night, I met Julie, Eric, and Derrick at Holihans for drinks and dinner. Julie got to see my ring (she said it was the shiniest ring she's ever seen! It should be shiny for 2 mil) we talked about the wedding, mostly work, and everything else. One of the best things about Thursdays is that you haven't drank all week, so you completely feel the need to reward yourself for all your hard work...go ahead...have 12 drinks opposed to 2. (Who cares about the consequences the next day, you're usually not thinking about that after your 7th shot.) Next, we went to Nick's---which completely reminded me of Pladium, minus the red carpeted walls of course. It totally brought me back to my roots in Cape and reminded me of what I used to love doing...bartending...how Cape rich I was, how easy it was to strike a conversation with someone, and my favorite, and a subject that will always be close to me...the Cape locals who I got to know and love so well.

Nick's was fun, (this is a good story...) when we first got there Julie and I ordered the usual, vodka, club soda, and lime...and I said CHEERS! and then Julie said, "To your engagement" and I said right after her, "To you being my maid of honor!" It was so perfect how it all flowed. Julie started crying and hugging me. She was super excited, honored, all of the above. It was a good moment :)

And how dare I almost forget Thursday club. For two years of my life, Thursday club was my life...literally...every Thursday I thought about the next Thursday. It all started in a little Cape Place apartment, sometimes moved to Jeremiahs (although, we were almost all UNDER-age, we only got in because we went at 9pm and Dmac bartended, quite hilarious if you ask me!) For me, it brings back memories of my best friends, my pledge class, Sig Taus, Derrick and I's falling in love stage, and the list goes on. Thursday club IS what brought us all so close. And that's a fact.

Thursdays bring good memories, always have, always will...at least until I start growing out of my wild dreams, but I doubt that will happen ;) CHEERS! to Thursdays!
