Being Thankful

The past year has brought so much. Thanksgiving really makes you think about the things you appreciate, who you appreciate etc. Derrick and I got up early (hangovers and all!) to come to O'Fallon so Derrick could play in the turkey bowl. On the way, we were talking about all the things we are thankful for. Derrick said his, I said mine. I woke up to 2 text messages from Derrick's sister and sister-in-law saying how thankful they are to have such a great family and telling us they love us. (We will see all of them tomorrow :) I am so thankful for family, my wonderful fiance, having a job in this crucial time, and good health.

My parents' house always smells the best on Thanksgiving. Right now the fire is on, my brother, Dad, and Derrick are all taking a little nap together in the family room. Three peas in a pod... After the football games, me and my mom stuffed the turkey together, and I had made a breakfast casserole, so we all enjoyed that. Right now, I'm watching my mom peel the potatoes... Experienced Moms' know everything. I'm thankful for my Mom.

I'm so excited for dinner, can't wait! On the way to O'Fallon, we stopped at QT and Derrick was looking at the breakfast sandwich selection, and I said, "You better not, try and conserve your calories" and he looked at me and said, "Ha, yeah right, I'm eating as much as I want today and tomorrow!" I guess I forgot it's Thanksgiving, and it's pointless to try and watch what you eat! In that case, I'll probably have two pieces of pumpkin pie!! ...I've been a fat girl lately.

Thanksgiving Eve was awesome! Derrick got off work early, as did I! Derrick went out for some drinks with work associates until I got home. When I got home, we bummed around, ate dinner, and Derrick had a conference call with Hong Kong (pretty cool!) We got ready and met everyone at McGurks in Soulard. Julie, Lo, Eric, Maria, and so many others! McGurks was so fun because we had tables outside! Then we headed down to Washington Ave. which was crazy busy! Overall, the night was great!... Of course dealing with it today a little :( hahaha

Happy Thanksgiving to ALL! ...I have to get back to watching the dog show and football :)
