Nixa, MO

This weekend was very low-key...thank goodness, it was just what I needed. Friday after work we headed towards Springfield, MO to celebrate Eva Kay's 5th birthday. It was a very big deal, as Eva would say, "I'm a whole hand!!" We rode with Mike and Sandy, got there around 8:30pm. Of course all the kids were still up and wound up as ever. Eva just had to open her present from Aunt Laur Laur and Uncle Derr Derr...you can't really see her outfit we got her in the picture below but it was so cute on her :0)Saturday morning us girls went and saw, BRIDE WARS! It was really cute and got all of us even more excited for the wedding! When we got home Mindy, Andy, and Jonathan were there. I am also really proud of Derrick...before we left for the movie we told him he was in charge of Lincoln...as soon as we walked in the door Derrick goes, "I changed a diaper, his shirt, and put him down for his nap!" First time for everything :) Good thing he won't be needing those skills for a VERY long time. We have lots of goals we want to accomplish before certain steps ;) Saturday we lounged around, talked, and got dinner ready for that night. We went with a Mexican theme. I did the rotel, Mindy did the seven layer dip and Kim did chicken and beef enchiladas. Very successful. And of course, afterwards, we sang to Eva Kay.
Unfortunately, on Sunday we had to leave very early because I had a work meeting at 12:30. It really worked out because we had the majority of the day. I came home to a job well done clean apartment thanks to my fonsay!! Dishwasher unloaded and everything! Liz, Charlie, and Stu also came over for the football games. Speaking of...Here We Go Steelers - Here We Go!! Here comes the SuperBowl! Very exciting! Those AZ Cardinals better watch out.

Back to the grind tomorrow, probably a short day though :) Tuesday is also a big day this week...we will have a new El Presidente! I'm excited for that, this country needs a turn around. I've realized that it doesn't matter whether you're a Republican or Democrat...someone needs to get the job done and I believe he's the one to do it. I will always support the President of the United States :)

Happy Inauguration Day to you, too! These next four years will be interesting and I have to admit I am a little excited to see what happens.

I will so have to try the Cup Cakery! I just love love love cupcakes for some reason.... they are so girly and fun and yummy, too! ha ha. I should stop by the Chess Club when I do that!

Wedding plans sound like they are going well...and it sounds like you are having a good time with all of it. I can't wait to hear about everything you come up with, it's all so much fun. Don't let yourself stress too much(even though you don't seem stressed at all right now, it happens)... it is such a special time that flies by, believe it or not! It's sooo exciting that your honeymoon is a suprise. I love that!

Still waiting on this baby, hopefully I will have some baby pics to add to my blog soon enough! Take care, girly!
