Let me back it up all the way to last Friday - I knew I NEEDED a low-key weekend, so that is exactly what I made happen. After work, Derrick, Beetle, and I hopped on the Grant's Trail and did about 5 miles of good walking & talking! The weather was gorgeous - just enough to need a light jacket, I love that! We wanted to make dinner, instead of 'grabbing' something so we hit up the store on our ride home. We walked out with steaks, salad, and whole wheat mac and cheese (so much better than the regular stuff!) I love having a cocktail while making dinner and the husband is outside grilling!!
A big boy - with a big appetite...
Lately - I've really made the commitment to myself to start living a healthier lifestyle with eating, alcohol (well...I'm trying) and making workouts/runs a top priority. My friend Julie and I made an agreement to not eat 'sweets' for 3 weeks. Well, we both cheated but our 'sweet' intake has really improved. I actually can notice a different in my body...I'm not constantly feeling 'heavy.' I also watched my calorie intake, trying to keep it under 1200. That number works for me, and everyone is different. Most people need much more. I've also made the commitment to try and go more organic, and low-sugar. It's amazing how different I feel when I really focus on what I'm putting in my mouth.Saturday night I tried a couple new things from tips I collected from my other healthy living blog friends.
Bananas in a pan! So delicious, don't forget the PAM! Heat on one side for 3-4 minutes, flip for another 3-4 minutes.
This week has flown by and I am ready for the weekend! Just a few more hours here at the office.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
