The last few days have been unbearable with the cold weather. And now, it has started to snow and it hasn't stopped! I did make it to work today, however, it was slippery and very snowy. We didn't even open the chess club tonight because the roads were getting worse. After work, I went to the gym for a quick workout, but I had to get home because our good friend Tyler Stevens was in town and coming over for dinner! Oh, but first, let me tell you about my journey home!
I feel like my little car weighs absolutely nothing, so it has a hard time going, stopping, and keeping up in rain, snow, sleet, you name it. I finally pulled into our subdivision off Kingshighway and had to go up a little hill, and of course there were cars behind me. I get stuck in the snow. Thankfully, the nice man behind me got out and pushed my car for me, ha...as of about 6 or 7 months ago, I developed this fear of driving in any sort of rain, snow, etc so by the time I got home I had about had it! Our neighborhood roads haven't been plowed once since this mess started. After I made dinner, I called my boss and told him that if the roads weren't better in the morning, I don't know if I would be making it...he said the same thing :) As of now, almost 11pm...is hasn't given up at ALL. It is pretty though!
We had a really good time with Tyler. He spent 6 months in Amsterdam so he told us a lot about his trip. I have only seen him once since he got back last May and that was in October for Homecoming. Tyler is doing really well, working for Northwestern Mutual. Tomorrow night I think he is going to stay the night so he doesn't have to stay in the tiny room he is in tonight. Derrick and Tyler are like two peas in a pod, literally. They are soooo much a like, and have so much in common. I'm so excited for Tyler to be apart of our wedding party!
