Wedding Update!

Wedding plans are really falling into place. Everything hopefully will be finalized by the end of January/mid-February! We only have seven short months until the big day! Not only am I excited about the actual wedding but I'm also starting to get excited about the events that come before. Parties, the rehearsal dinner, cake taste-testing...ha...

All of the festivities will start on July 30th. The rehearsal dinner will be on a Thursday evening, so it will really be a wedding weekend extravaganza! Since we have a lot of family coming from the east coast my mom is having a BBQ at the house Friday afternoon. Saturday is the wedding/reception and hopefully we won't leave for the honeymoon late Sunday or extra early on Monday! The honeymoon is ALL Derrick. He's not telling me where we're going; he's just telling me what to pack!

This weekend, Julie and I are going to look for bridesmaid dresses. I HAVE FINALLY DECIDED ON COLORS! The colors are a deep, deep purple and yellow! Not a light but a bright yellow. The flowers will be very bright, with hints of deep purple with a dash of really cool green. --not greenery though. I'm really excited about my florist! Mindy recommended her to me and she's young, so she knows what I'm looking for! So, looking for bridesmaid dresses should be a piece of cake now that we know what color to look for. My dress is taking up to 6 months to make! I can't wait to put it on with my actual size! I need to start searching for shoes :)

Tonight Derrick and I are meeting with the pastor at the church we are getting married in. He's retired and supposedly really great! I'm sure I will love him because I adore older people :) Another thing we need to get going on is registering. I think we've decided on Macy's, Bed, Bath and Beyond, and Pottery Barn!...and Derrick thinks he'll register at Cabelas...right. Just what we need guns, and camouflage things. Not. Wedding planning has been enjoyable, however I'm just ready for that weekend to be here!
