I can have my cake, and eat it too

I'm starting to believe that the traditional work week should be cut to four days leaving the Friday as a day off and part of the weekend. Weekends go by extremely fast. This weekend had its ups and its downs. I still don't feel 100% better from being sick last week :( Although, that didn't stop me from having a few drinks Friday night with Derrick and some of his co-workers. Derrick, Jimmy, and Katie came over from Clayton and we went to Bar Louie and then headed to Famous Barr in South City. Interesting night...anyway, the rest of my weekend was def better than Friday. Saturday we headed to O'Fallon for two reasons, for CAKE tasting and trivia! My mom found this lady who makes wedding cakes out of her house. She had cup cakes made for us and fillings. She also had binders of cakes she has made in the past. It was so fun and this lady was SO sweet. As I was flipping through the binders, I came across this cake that was gorgeous. To say the least, that's the one we went with. It is so pretty and elegant. I'll give you a little sneak peak, it's ALL ivory with 4 tiers. It's an awesome cake.

A while back, my parents asked if we were interested in a trivia night to benefit my brothers legion baseball team. The table was for 8 people, so I asked Liz, Chuck, Curt and Amy if they wanted to join. They all agreed so we met at my parent's house and went to trivia. There were 41 tables at this trivia night!! It was really fun and we had the best appetizers that my mom made.

However, Sunday was not as happy as Saturday. A friend from college, Tim Meyer, his dad passed away so on Sunday afternoon, we drove to Ste.Gen for the wake. Liz and Charlie rode with us, but we all just wanted it to be over. You just don't want to see your friends so sad like that. Afterwards, we went to Mike and Sandy's for dinner, then headed home. On the way back to STL, our great friend Dan the Man rode back with us. The 5 of us had a blast on the way home. We even stopped at McDonals's for icecream because me and Liz were craving it :)

Tonight, Derrick and I have our first pre-marital counseling class...AHHH!!!
