Tonight I decided to go to Target after work to finish shopping for Derrick's birthday presents. I knew he wouldn't be home until 6:30 or 7pm so I had time to wrap all his presents, throw the cake in the oven and start on dinner. We were going to go out for dinner, but we really like staying at home to eat most of the time, and it would save some money!
Derrick finally came home and dinner was almost ready. I whipped up some spaghetti with chicken, mushrooms, and zucchini! I love spaghetti because you can add anything you want to the sauce and it's always delicious. Derrick really had no idea that I was getting him anything for his birthday. When he walked in the door he could see all the presents wrapped on the table, and he just got this smile on his face. (Keep in mind, Derrick never buys any material items for himself, so I think he likes it when I do!) He quickly changed clothes and then started to open! I got him 2 pairs of jeans (because he has been wearing the same jeans for the last 5-6 years!) a pair of casual/going out shoes, and white t-shirts. However, I have to make another trip back to Macy's because his shoes don't fit :(
Dinner turned out really well...I am way to full!!! I have to admit, Derrick is really lucky. Last weekend was his birthday celebration with my family, last night we went to Bar Louie with his work friends, tonight with me, and tomorrow night we are heading to Ste.Gen to celebrate with his parents! However, the grand finale is on Saturday...Cape bound!!! Such a lucky boy, that's for sure!
Other than that, I am THRILLED tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!
