St.Pattys '09!!!

I had never been to a St.Patrick's day celebration! This Saturday was my first experience, and I have to say it was a lot of fun with a great day full of sunshine!!! It's so nice to not have to wear a coat everywhere you go. Kim came up from Ste.Gen, and Liz was already here from the night before. (All the guys were on their yearly fishing trip.) The three of us hung out at the apt for a while, had mimosas, and then headed downtown. We immediately ran into Julie and her family, and Kim's friend Jill so that was nice because we didn't have to search for anyone!

We had a great spot to watch the parade right on Market across from the Marriott. After the parade was over, we walked ooooo say, seemed like 37 miles to JackPatrick's. I'm glad we went there because a couple people from SEMO were there that I hadn't seen in a while. We then decided to stroll down to Washington Ave to The Dubliner.

We didn't stay there to long because we wanted to meet up with Mac and Brandy in Soulard at The Shanti. The weather really just made the day. It was so nice to be outside and cooped up in the house.

Picture to the right: (Me, Kim, and Liz up against a giant Miller Lite bottle after the parade. Kim had a really good time without her kiddos and husband...as you can see, her sippy up is empty, unlike mine!)

Sundays are always my day to do whatever I want to do. I got up, cleaned my apartment, opened all the windows to get some natural light in and decided to run to the mall to return Derrick's birthday presents for all the correct sizes! My mom was cooking cornbeef and cabbage today so I couldn't pass the opportunity up for that delicious meal! I got some laundry done, Beetle got to run around, and I got some quality time in with the fam. When I got home, Derrick was resting on the couch, from a long and hard fishing trip...ya right...more like, relaxing and an excuse for a lot of drinking. As for the rest of the night, Derrick and I are planted on the couch watching Planet Earth and eating Girl Scout cookies.
