I finally got out of STL for the weekend, which felt wonderful. Sometimes you just need a break from the fast paced running around all the time. Friday night was really relaxing for me. Derrick had to go to Dexter due to auctioning off the Stewart farm in Dexter on Saturday. Friday after work, I went to the gym and Target to pick up a wedding gift and dog food. I was up until 1am just doing all sorts of things enjoying the quiet.
Saturday morning, I met Amy and Josh to ride to Ste.Gen with them. Amy and Josh were having a 'no son' weekend. This was their first time in 8 months leaving Jackson with Josh's mom for the ENTIRE weekend. They were a little nervous, but were ready for a fun night. This was the first wedding of the summer. Megan Operle and Andy Naeger tied the knot and it was beautiful. Megan looked phenomenal, her dress was really pretty. In between the wedding ceremony and reception, we stopped by the Midway, where Derrick finally met us, and we also got to see Charla and Bova!It was really great to see people we don't see a lot. I guess the older you get, weddings are a good place to catch up with people, because you don't get the chance to hang out as much. It was a really fun night, Amy and I got in A LOT of good time together!!
We woke up Sunday morning to a huge breakfast made by Mike (Derrick's dad) and the morning was gorgeous so we enjoyed that outside on the back deck. Amy and Josh took off after that and Derrick and I both went straight to the couches for a nice Sunday afternoon nap. I woke up to Derrick doing some yard work and I volunteered to pick strawberries in the backyard :)
We had a nice ride home back to STL. We picked up some take out and rented a couple movies. Back to work tomorrow! Already looking forward to the next weekend!
