Honeymooning in Nassau!

Our honeymoon was fantastic! We arrived Monday afternoon, waiting just about an hour around the resort for our room to be ready, which was fine by us because we were just SO excited to finally be there. We stayed at Sandals Bahamian Resort and Spa in Nassau, Bahamas. It was so gorgeous, luxurious, and exciting!!We knew we had an 'ocean front' room but we didn't expect it to be the way it was!! Our room was awesome, and the view was what we thought, the best in the house! Don't get me wrong, we were hardly in our room, but when we were, we were standing outside on the patio or sleeping! The water in the Bahamas is crystal clear and so clean. The food on the resort was great, and we had a lot of really good seafood, which we both are huge fans of!To be completely honest, we didn't do a lot of activities...we just relaxed and enjoyed each other. I have never, and I mean NEVER, seen Derrick so relaxed in my three a half years! We never knew what time it was, which was awesome, because there would be one or two times where we both would take a little nap on the beach, wake up and have no clue what time it was!!! We sipped tropical drinks, literally all day by mostly the ocean, occasionally the pool, and always watched the sunset from our patio between 7:30 and 8pm, then we would get ready for dinner by 9pm. It was so nice, because we literally did whatever we wanted, when we wanted. Nothing depended on anyone else, except what we wanted to do!The nice thing about our resort was that the resort had a private island that they owned, which all guests could take a 3-minute boat ride too. There was a pool there, with a swim-up bar, restaurant, and two beaches. It was amazing. It was literally like the Corona commercial where no one else is around except the two of you. It was wonderful. We went over to the island for 2 full days and one night. On Tuesday, Derrick went down to the front lobby to book our massages and dinners. (Some restuarants, you must make reservations for.) Our massages were on Wednesday and it was the best! I hadn't had a massage in a while and it hit the spot. Derrick has never had one and I think it made him a different person! He loved it as well! Derrick also booked a private dinner on the beach for the two of us with a private server. It was so romantic and so thoughtful. The food was superb, I don't think I've ever had a better lobster tail!! Throughout the entire week, we had great conversation about everything, and really enjoyed being together :)

The only thing we did off the resort is spend a few hours downtown Nassau shopping, eating, and drinking! We really wanted to experience some Bahamian culture, so that is what we did. We did some bargaining at the straw market, where I picked up there Coach purses (one for my mom!) and a Coach wallet, and Derrick picked up some REAL Cuban cigars! We even bought a nice wind chime for the new house! We found a nice little restaurant tucked in an alley way, where we had some beers and Conck. Conck is almost like their replacement for oysters, etc. It was really good. At that place, we had it the crack way (as they call it.) Then we made our way to the line of resturants called the "Fish Fry." We also had Conck there four other ways and loved it! That was a really fun day!

Overall, our honeymoon in my eyes was perfect, relaxing, wonderful, and so-badly needed!!! We both got great sun! It was really weird, every worker kept calling me Mrs. Stewart! I'm going to have to get used to that ;)
