~Our Wedding Day~

August 1, 2009 - was a beautiful day that was so fun, exciting and so memorable. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding weekend. Where to even begin...

Thursday morning started out really nice with nails and pedicures with my mom, gram, and aunt! Then on to lunch with my two aunts, gram, and mom. Everyone was ready for the festivities to begin! Our rehearsal dinner was on Thursday evening. I can't even remember if I blogged about any of this so sorry if anyone is re-reading anything! Our rehearsal dinner was tons of fun with family and friends. This is where we gave our wedding party their gifts, which for the bridesmaids was a personalized beach towel, and earrings for the wedding; for the groomsmen and ushers a pocket knife. After the dinner itself, some of us headed to Brewskeeskis for a good time with the Rough Riders! We had so much fun and that was only day #1!

Day #2, which was Friday was the BBQ at my parent's house. Now that I look back, thank goodness we had a BBQ for family and friends because it was hard enough trying to make my way around at the wedding reception to talk to everyone! The BBQ worked out well because all of our family was in from out of town. By the end of the BBQ I was starting to get a little tired and knew I should have gone to bed. Everyone left rather early except for Julie, Lo, Amy, and Liz who all stayed the night with me. We ended up staying up for a while chatting with my mom!

Saturday morning came early, but everyone slept in until about 7:30am. My family friend Natalie came over about 8am, to start on everyone's hair. I went last, and I absolutely loved my hair! I had two orchids put in, which my amazing florist Becky Huffman brought over. I also loved my flowers!!! Becky Huffman did exactly what I had in mind, I didn't want to put mine down! The day was a lot of fun and so very memorable. I have the greatest mom and friends in the world. Everyone knew I wanted a bunch of pictures taken with my camera, so everyone just kept picking up my camera taking random pictures, which was great!! I have hundreds of pictures and it is awesome!!

Surprisingly, 4pm came fast. My stomach started to roll when the bridesmaids started walking down the aisle, but once I was actually to Derrick, everything was smooth sailing. We wrote our own vowels, which to us, means a lot. The ceremony was short and sweet. Afterwards, everyone jumped on the bus and off to Whitmoor we went!Dinner at Whitmoor was superb. We had a sit down dinner and the food was wonderful. We had steak and stuffed chicken, and I was starving by the time everyone sat down. I was also very impressed with our cake which was gorgeous and delicious. All I can say about our reception is that it was a blast, and I have never seen people dance like they did, because everyone danced all night!

Towards the end of the evening, my aunt came up to me and asked if we were almost ready to go, and I was like...I guess??? My aunt Nancy and Uncle Mark had gotten Derrick and I a limo to drive us downtown and around Forest Park. It was so perfect and such a surprise! (Derrick knew about it since Thursday!!) We popped a bottle of champagne and just laughed about the night and talked about how much fun we had. It was such a perfect weekend.

I have to give the biggest thank you to my parents, for they made every little detail happen, and everything was so special ;)

Sunday morning was a huge breakfast at my parents house for anyone who wanted to come over. We opened presents and packed our bags to come back to our apt before our 3:30am wake up call for the airport Monday morning!! We got a lot of wonderful gifts and I can't wait to use everything!

August 1st was a wonderful day, and I will never forget it!!!!
