Happy 50th Birthday, MOM!
For the last two months I have been working with two of my mom's friends on making my mom's 50th birthday party a big SURPRISE party. Well, to say the least, it was a success. My mom was completely shocked. My mom is one who is always doing things for others and never wanting any attention on herself. About 30 of her closest friends were there to help celebrate the big 5-0!

Mary Sue, who made Derrick and I's wedding cake, also made my mom's 50 and Fabulous cake! It was awesome, and just as good ;)

My mom was so excited to see her 'younger' friends there too!
My mom's faced looks so surprised here because her friends got her this necklace she'd been wanting. She's really into accessories!
Everyone had a wonderful time at the party, especially my mom, which was the goal! It was definitely a birthday to never forget!
A little back track: Friday night I got out of work a little later than anticipated. I also got a free flu shot earlier in the day at BJC, only because I was already there for an event in the morning. Around 3:30, I started to not feel so hot. Keep in mind...I have never gotten a flu shot , and never had the flu. I was kicking myself for even getting it. However, whenever I got home that night I took some Ibuprofen and felt better. Derrick and I went to Cunetto's for dinner, and while we waited for a table, we walked down the street to this little bar and had a drink. It was nice to have a little date with my husband, we hadn't done that in a while. Cunetto's was fantastic. We didn't leave hungry. Afterwards, we went shopping for Saturday's big bash.
Great weekend!
