Hello Summer!
Summer is one of my favorite times of the year. I love to go to events outside, BBQ, and play games like washers, bags, etc. This weekend started great on Friday evening. We had to make a quick run to the airport to drop off Derrick's mom, brother, sister-in-law, and kids because they are going on a little vacation to Florida. Afterwards, Derrick and I went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. We were both craving a steak, so that's what we had! Texas Roadhouse is my only and favorite 'chain restuarant' I really like. We didn't feel like doing anything after dinner, so we came home and fell asleep by 10:30!
The picture below is of Branden opening his present from Derrick and I. We got him a Lindenwood hoodie, and some CASH!Saturday morning came early, along with a nice thunderstorm! I laid in bed for awhile enjoying the rain hitting the windows and then decided to hit the gym before a busy day. Saturday afternoon was my brother's graduation party at a park in O'Fallon. Luckily, the weather cleared up beautifully and the day was spectacular. My family and two other families combined for the parties. The food was great, and it was really good to see people I never get to see! Julie and Eric also decided to come which was great, because Derrick and I got in some serious cornbag games. The party wrapped up around 8pm, and we all headed back to my parents' house for some summer night fun! My brother was having literally, the entire baseball team and girlfriends over for the night. My aunt and uncle were also in town, so the two of them, including my grandmother came over when we got home. It was such a nice evening...we all sat around the table for a while talking, laughing, and drinking while telling stories. My uncle was getting Julie and Eric up to speed on the Smith family :) The picture above is of Eric, just saying hi!
As it got later, Julie and I just got extremely fun and everyone had a great time! We ended up playing quite a few rounds of flip cup, and the next thing I knew it was 3:30am!!! I love when nights like that are so fun, you lose all track of time and just enjoy everyone's company. The picture to the left is of my family at like 2am! Everyone still is looking pretty good!
It was a big day for everyone, including Beetle Bailey. This picture was taken on the way home, and as you can see Beetle looks exhausted. She ran around like a wild woman at the park Saturday afternoon.
