My husband went out of town this weekend to his yearly trout fishing trip! Like I've said before, I love my husband dearly, but I love a good weekend to myself! Friday night I got off work, had a nice workout at the gym and went to blockbuster! I rented The Hurt Locker, Precious, and Food, Inc. After the Oscars, I knew I just had to see Precious, and The Hurt Locker! Oprah was raving about Food, Inc. and I love documentaries and really wanted to see it. I love movies that are full of good information about making better choices when it comes to food.
On Saturday morning, I got up early, picked Julie up and we headed downtown to the St. Pat's 5-mile run that we registered for. It was a great run and we did it in 52 minutes! I stayed down downtown for about 45 minutes afterwards and headed home. Later that day, my Dad and Gram came over (my mom is in Florida :) and we had such a good time, ordered some pizza and hung out. My dad was even kind enough to hang some shelves for me in our family room! I don't really have anything on them yet...that space just needed something. Please ignore the ugly sticks to the left in the picture. I am re-arranging my mantle and trying to figure out what I want to do up there...it's a long process...
I ended up staying in Saturday... and surprisingly, I slept late on Sunday (must have been the time change!) I laid around of what was left of the morning and into the early afternoon. Derrick arrived home and we talked for a while and eventually went and grabbed some Mexican. Overall - it was a wonderful weekend with not a lot going on! Sometimes, those are the best!
